chicken breasts baked with lemons and herbs

Lemon-pepper is one of my favorite flavor combinations, especially when it comes to lemon-pepper wings. I’m not always in the mood for wings, which inspired me to create this extremely weeknight-friendly dinner: lemon-pepper baked chicken wings. Chicken breasts are seasoned with layers of bright and fresh flavors (like lemon pepper!), and served with an irresistible sauce perfect for scooping over everything, from mashed potatoes to veggie sides. Read on for everything you need to know to make this under-an-hour weeknight dinner winner:

The chicken:
For this recipe, I went with chicken breasts. Seasoned with lemon-pepper seasoning and cooked in a garlicky butter and broth mixture, the chicken not only turns out extremely flavorful but also perfectly tender.

How to make lemon-pepper chicken:
This recipe starts on the stovetop for a perfect golden sear, then finishes in the oven for the juiciest, most flavorful result. If you don’t want to turn on your oven, you can do everything over the stovetop. After you add the sauce ingredients, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for about another 3 minutes until the sauce is a perfectly silky consistency.

What to serve with this chicken:
The options are endless when it comes to side dish pairings for this chicken dinner. Serve it up with some creamy orzo, roasted asparagus, or air fryer green beans. Want to fire up the grill? Any of these grilled veggies would round out this summer dinner perfectly.
