Aldi has issued a recall of one of the products from its Christmas party food range after discovering an undeclared allergen, prompting the retailer to pull it from sale across England, Scotland and Wales.

The recall affects the retailer’s Perfect Christmas Mozzarella Sticks in Blankets after egg was found missing from the label, creating a potential health risk for consumers with an egg allergy or intolerance. The affected product carries a use-by date of 15 December 2025.

This is Aldi’s second Christmas food recall this season, following the withdrawal earlier this month of its Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks Christmas chocolate over a potential peanut contamination. The move comes days after Tesco issued a similar festive recall over undeclared milk in its Aubergine Katsu Bao Buns.

Aldi confirmed it is recalling the product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will alert their members to the issue. The retailer has also placed point-of-sale notices in stores explaining the recall and instructing customers on next steps.

In its recall notice, Aldi said:

We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.”

Anyone with an egg allergy or intolerance who purchased the product should avoid consuming it. Instead, they should return it to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund, even if they do not have their receipt.
