What Is a Cheesy Dipping Burrito?

When they first joined the Taco Bell menu earlier this year, many customers were delighted to try the new Cheesy Dipping Burritos, aka a pair of mini burritos connected by a layer of melted cheese. They were available in steak and chicken varieties and came with one of three sauces: Nacho Cheese, Creamy Chipotle or Reduced Fat Sour Cream.

Cheesy Dipping Burritos were available at participating restaurants nationwide for a limited time.

Cheesy Dipping Burritos Return to Taco Bell on Dec. 18 Along With Steak Garlic Nacho Fries

Luckily, customers won’t have to wait long to reunite with Cheesy Dipping Burritos. The popular menu item will return to Taco Bell on Thursday, Dec. 18, with prices starting at $5.49. This time around, customers can still choose between steak or chicken varieties.

Customers can choose from one of two remaining sauces — Creamy Chipotle Sauce or Nacho Cheese Sauce — and a new Creamy Garlic Sauce.

Steak Garlic Nacho Fries are also returning on Dec. 18 with prices starting at $4.99. The seasoned nacho fries stand out from other Taco Bell fries since they’re topped with steak, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, nacho cheese sauce and Creamy Garlic Sauce.

Both returning items will remain on the menu for a limited time at participating Taco Bell restaurants nationwide while supplies last. Prices may vary by location.

Fans Helped Inspire the New Garlic Sauce

Taco Bell fans love to mix and match sauces to customize their meals. The chain took notice of customers on social media showing how they were pairing Cheesy Dipping Burritos with the Garlic Ranch from Steak Garlic Nacho Fries, and decided to add Creamy Garlic Sauce as one of the three sauce options for the returning item.

“The community showed us how powerful a simple drizzle of Creamy Garlic Sauce could be. What started as a fan hack quickly became a shared passion, and we made sure to listen,” Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer Liz Matthews said in a press release. “Bringing back Cheesy Dipping Burritos alongside Steak Garlic Nacho Fries celebrates the role our fans played in this menu innovation and delivers the bold flavors garlic lovers have been craving.”
