If you just don’t have the energy to make another side dish this Thanksgiving but don’t want to miss out on sweet potato casserole, then this appetizer is the ideal bite-sized compromise. Love your sweet potato casserole with marshmallows? You’ll be OBSESSED with these bites. They’re the perfect amount of sweet and savory, so you can serve them before or after the big meal. Plus, they’re ready in under an hour, so they’re an ideal last-minute Thanksgiving addition during crunch time.
I create these bites by using my favorite store-bought shortcut—crescent dough. I load them up with a sweet potato casserole-inspired filling, topped with mini marshmallows, pecans, and a drizzle of maple syrup. After baking, they turn flaky, golden, and the marshmallows are melty and toasty.
