At the end of every holiday season, I’m left with a bag of frozen cranberries and not the slightest clue what to do with them. Everyone is tired of cranberry sauce, I can’t stomach another baked good, and I’m in desperate need of the freezer space to accommodate the surplus of leftovers. This recipe offers a delicious BBQ-inspired solution to my cranberry dilemma. Say it with me…Spicy. Cranberry. Wings. Garlic powder- and smoked paprika-dusted chicken wings get tossed in a chili powder-spiked cranberry sauce and baked until they reach caramelized, tangy, sweet, and spicy perfection.
Eat them straight up or dunk them in the accompanying garlic mayo for the best between-the-holidays bite. Keep a batch of these ingredients on hand for those days when you’re still in the festive spirit but have zero desire for the traditional seasonal fare.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
