TGI Fridays is assisting SNAP recipients by distributing free children’s meals amid the ongoing government shutdown.

How do you take advantage of the deal and which other restaurants offer free children’s meals on an ongoing basis?

Here’s everything we know, including an update on where SNAP benefits stand amid the government shutdown.

SNAP Benefits Expired on Nov. 1, but Some Assistance Is on the Way

For weeks, participants of the food assistance programs have expressed concern that they would not receive their November benefits if the shutdown continued into a second month. October benefits were previously distributed before the shutdown began.

On Nov. 1, millions of Americans lost access to SNAP benefits. Per NBC News, the Trump administration spoke with a federal judge on Nov. 3 and said it would tap into more than $4 billion in contingency funds to ensure that SNAP participants would receive half of their normal monthly benefits.

As of Nov. 5, the Agriculture Department told a federal judge that SNAP recipients would actually receive 65% of their normal benefits in November.

The TGI Fridays Deal Runs for 2 Weeks

Between Nov. 6 — 20, TGI Fridays will run a “Kids Eat Free” promotion to assist SNAP recipients.

Here’s how it works: Families who dine in will receive one free kids meal with each adult entrée they purchase ($10 minimum). The offer is valid at participating U.S. locations and is limited to one kids meal per adult per day. Families need to present a valid EBT card to take advantage of the offer.

After the two-week period ends, TGI Fridays will continue to run the deal each Tuesday through the end of the year.
