Hormel Foods Corporation first learned about the issue after receiving “multiple complaints from foodservice customers finding metal in their frozen chicken breast and chicken thigh products.”

After investigating the matter, the company learned that the metal “originated from the conveyor belt used in production.”

So far, the brand has not received any confirmed reports of injury from customers who consumed the product.

What to Do If Your Business Purchased the Recalled Product

Since HRI distributes food to hotels and restaurants, some of the recalled chicken may still be in the freezers of hotels, restaurants and institutions. If businesses discover the products in their freezers, they’re encouraged to throw them away.
