Why Are the Products Being Recalled?

While noting the reason for the recall, the FDA cited concerns over the “potential presence of foreign material (metal) in the product.”

In a statement to TODAY.com, a Coca-Cola spokesperson described the recall as “small” and “localized,” and said it involved “a very limited quantity” of product.

Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, LLC recalled the following amounts of products:

  • Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 12-ounce Can: 1,115 units
  • Coca-Cola 12-ounce Can: 2,322 units
  • Sprite 12-ounce Can: 791 units

Where Were the Products Sold?

The Coca-Cola spokesperson says the recalled products were distributed in “parts of Texas,” more specifically the McAllen/Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio. The recall didn’t extend beyond this area.

As of Oct. 10, all affected products were removed from store shelves “out of an abundance of caution.”
