Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant, a chain of breweries located mainly around the Philadelphia area and Delaware, announced it’s abruptly closing all of its remaining locations.

The company announced on Facebook on Sept. 25 that all of its locations are now closed.

“It has been our pleasure to serve you, and we are deeply grateful for your support, friendship, and loyalty over the years,” the company wrote. “We sincerely hope to return in the future, and when we do, we promise to welcome you with open arms.”

The closure of the chain’s remaining 16 locations comes two weeks after it closed three locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Iron Hill announced in December 2024 that it was bringing a new location to Temple University’s campus in Philadelphia. However, it never opened, per The Philadelphia Inquirer. It was set to be the chain’s 20th location.

The company did not share the reason for the closures. TODAY.com has reached out to Iron Hill for comment.

An employee told The Philadelphia Inquirer that workers received a message on the morning of Sept. 25 saying the company had filed for bankruptcy and was abruptly shuttering all of its locations.

Iron Hill’s closure comes 29 years after it was founded and opened its first location in Newark, Delaware. The company also had locations in South Carolina and Georgia.
