Just weeks after McDonald’s announced it was bringing back Extra Value Meals, the fast-food chain is dropping another hot deal to entice customers back to its famous golden arches.
The restaurant’s latest offer comes just in time for National Cheeseburger Day on Thursday, Sept. 18 and will run for one day only.

McDonald’s Double Cheeseburgers Will Cost 50 Cents on Sept. 18
McDonald’s customers who order in the chain’s app can score a Double Cheeseburger for 50 cents on Sept. 18. The offer can only be redeemed once per customer at participating locations and app registration is required.
Other Restaurants Offering National Cheeseburger Day Deals
In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, many other restaurant chains are also serving up steep discounts and freebies. Here’s a look at some of the offerings:
- Burger King: Royal Perks members can get a free Bacon Cheeseburger with a $1+ purchase on Sept. 18 at participating locations on the Burger King app or website.
- Carl’s Jr. Rewards members who purchase a large fountain drink on Sept. 18 can order a half-priced Western Bacon Cheeseburger in restaurants or in the chain’s app/website.
- Jack in the Box: The chain is offering two deals on Sept. 18: $5 Smashed Jacks in-store and in app (single-use offer per user) and a Free Jr. Cheeseburger with a $1+ order.
- White Castle: Between Sept. 18 — 21, White Castle customers can take advantage of a buy one, get one free offer on Cheese Siders with the code SAYCHEESE.
McDonald’s Has More Deals Planned
Starting in early September, McDonald’s started to lower the cost of combo meals, including the following options: Big Mac, Chicken McNuggets, McCrispy, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Egg McMuffin, and some breakfast sandwiches. The discounts should remain through the beginning of 2026.
Extra Value Meals will also return this fall, ushering in the following discounts:
- September: $5 Sausage Egg McMuffin meals and $8 Bic Mac meals
- November: $5 Sausage, Egg and Cheese McGriddle and $8 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meals
